DNA nanotechnology
направление исследований в области нанотехнологии, цель которого - использовать молекулярное опознавание (molecular recognition), уникальное свойство ДНК (DNA) и других нуклеиновых кислот (nucleic acid), чтобы создавать на базе ДНК новые, управляемые структуры, т. е. ДНК служит здесь структурным материалом и элементом бионанотехнологии (bionanotechnology), а не носителем генетической информации. Возможные перспективные приложения - самосборка молекулярных узлов и молекулярные вычисления
